Cancellation of MARADMIN 229/17

This MARADMIN cancels MARADMIN 229/17, which provided clarification on requirements for medical extensions beyond contractual separation dates. The guidance from the cancelled MARADMIN has been incorporated into MCO 1900.16 CH2 (Marine Corps Separation and Retirement Manual), which commanders will now use for all medical extension procedures.

1.  Reference (a) is hereby cancelled.  The requirements and standardizations of procedures in reference (a) have been codified in reference (b).  Effective immediately, commanders will use the requirements and procedures for retention beyond an established contractual separation date in reference (b) for a medical extension for active duty and reserve Marines.<br>
