Calendar Year Official Photograph Requirement for All Active Duty Majors, Lieutenant Colonels and Colonels

This MARADMIN establishes a new requirement for all active duty Majors, Lieutenant Colonels, and Colonels to have an official promotion photograph taken and uploaded to their Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) on a calendar year basis. Officers must also ensure they have a photograph taken within 12 months of any promotion board convening date when eligible for consideration.

1.  The official photograph is used to review the military appearance of a Marine.  In order to meet annual requirements for a variety of assignments, effective immediately, all active duty Majors, Lieutenant Colonels and Colonels are required to have an official promotion photograph taken and uploaded to their Official Military Personnel File on a Calendar Year basis.  Official photographs must be submitted per the provisions of the reference.<br>
2.  Officers are reminded that when eligible for promotion board consideration, they must submit an official photograph within 12 months of the convening date of the board.<br>
3.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the active component only and has been coordinated with the Office of U.S. Marine Corps Communications, Combat Camera Proponency Branch Head.<br>
