Ch 1 MCBUL 1040 Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17) Enlisted to Warrant Officer (WO) Marine Gunner Selection Board
This MARADMIN issues Change 1 to MCBUL 1040, modifying the years of service requirements for the FY17 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Marine Gunner Selection Board. The change removes the minimum 16-year service requirement and waiver language, requiring only that applicants be Gunnery Sergeants with at least one year time in grade and no more than 23 years of active naval service by the appointment date.

The years of active service requirement reflected in paragraph 13 of the reference stating "applicants must have no less than 16 or more than 23 years of active naval service on the date of appointment to CWO2. When computing the amount of active naval service, use 1 Feb 2017 as the date of appointment. Active duty in the U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force is not creditable as naval service. Waivers are available on a case by case basis for Gunnery Sergeant with at least one year time in grade and no less than 14 years of active naval service" is changed to read as follows: "Applicants must be a Gunnery Sergeant with at least one year time in grade by the application deadline established in ref (a). Applicants must have no more than 23 years of active naval service on the date of appointment to CWO2 for the FY17 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Marine Gunner Selection Board.
