2026 Annual Defense Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS)
This MARADMIN establishes the requirement for O-5 and O-6 commanders, Commanding Generals, and Deputy Commandants with 50 or more personnel to conduct the annual Defense Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS) between 1 August and 30 November 2026. Registration opens 31 July 2026, and survey administration must begin no later than 31 October 2026. Commanders must designate trained survey administrators and provide dedicated time during working hours for all military and civilian personnel to complete the survey.

1. In coordination with Marine and Family Programs Division, this message serves to affirm the annual requirement for Command Climate Assessment and to provide guidance on the administration of the Defense Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS). Per references (a) and (b), all O-5 and O-6 slated commanders, Commanding Generals, and Deputy Commandants with 50 or more personnel will conduct the annual DEOCS between 1 August and 30 November. Registration for the Calendar Year 2026 DEOCS will open on 31 July 2026. Administration of the DEOCS must commence no later than 31 October 2026. 2. Commanders will actively encourage maximum participation in the DEOCS. Dedicated opportunities must be provided during working hours for all personnel, both military and Department of War (DoW) civilians, to complete the survey. 3. Commanders shall designate a survey administrator who must complete the JKO course Prevention 004, "How to Conduct a Command Climate Assessment and Administer the Defense Organizational Climate Survey (5-hrs)" before administering the survey. Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce personnel at levels 3-5 are prohibited from serving as DEOCS administrators per reference (a). 4.
