Announcement of Irregular Warfare and Competition Specialty Training
This MARADMIN announces the availability of Irregular Warfare and Competition (IW/C) specialty training courses for Marines to enhance their operational and technical competency in irregular warfare and competition activities. The courses include both Department of War and non-DoW offerings, and Marines can review and register for available courses through a designated SharePoint site. This applies to the entire Marine Corps Total Force.

1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces Irregular Warfare and Competition (IW/C) specialty training courses for which Marines can apply to increase their operational and technical competency in IW/C. These courses include both Department of War (DoW) and non-DOW offerings relevant to irregular activities and competition activities. 2. Background. As directed by the references, the services will institutionalize Irregular Warfare (IW) as a core competency. To achieve this, the services will develop and maintain a baseline of military capabilities and personnel to meet Combatant Command IW-related requirements while also tracking the associated capacity and proficiency of the force. The services will establish and maintain training and education with non-DoW organizations to raise operational and technical competency of military personnel in IW. The services will establish and maintain service policies and programs to entice and incentivize military personnel to raise their operational and technical competency in IW. 3. Interested Marines can review and register for available courses under the training tab at: https://usmc.sharepoint-mil.us/sites/ DCCDI/SitePages/Irregular-Warfare-and-Competition.aspx. 4. The approved courses on the above site have been assigned a unique Service School Code (SSC) or Local School Code (LSC) for use in tracking student completion of a course in the Marine Corps Training and Information Management System (MCTIMS). 5. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force. 6. Release authorized by Lieutenant General E. E.
