Call for Award Nominations for the 15th Annual Stars and Stripes Recognition Dinner During the Black Engineer of the Year Awards Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Global Competitiveness Conference
MARADMIN 529/19 solicits nominations for the Stars and Stripes Service Military Award to be presented at the 15th Annual Stars and Stripes Recognition Dinner during the Black Engineer of the Year Awards STEM Global Competitiveness Conference. Nominations are sought for senior officers, Senior Executive Service members, and senior enlisted personnel who have demonstrated exemplary professional achievement, technical contribution, educational leadership, and community service, with a focus on STEM advocacy.

1. HQMC, Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion Branch (MPE) is soliciting Senior Officer, Senior Executive Service, and Senior Enlisted nominees for the Stars and Stripes Service Military Award. The candidates should be senior military and civilian nominees who have distinguished themselves by significantly contributing to their organizations' mission and to the nation through exemplary professional career achievement, technical contribution, educational leadership, and community service. They also should have served with distinction supporting Marine Corps efforts in membership, diversity, and value based service to the Nation. The nominated individual should have served within commands and/or agencies that have missions to procure, develop, or employ new technologies and systems. Additionally, the Service nominees should be advocates for advances in STEM and STEM education. Finally, the nominees should have proven themselves to be of exemplary character and outstanding ability. All Marines and civilian employees, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation are eligible for nomination. Nominations are due NLT 25 October 2019. For all nominations, provide the POCs a high resolution 5x7 photo, bio and justification for the award. 2. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force. 3.
