Update to MARADMIN 703/19, Announcement of Regional Training on Use of Medical Planners Toolkit Version 1.4

1.  BACKGROUND.  Ref A announced the final training sessions scheduled on use of the updated Medical Planners Toolkit (MPTk) modeling application, conducted by trainers from the Naval Health Research Center.  MPTk was designed and developed as a science-based, repeatable and standardized methodology for medical, personnel, and logistics planners to better estimate casualty rates, associated patient streams, and requirements relative to theater hospitalization to service that patient stream.  The final training sessions were scheduled to be conducted aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico in April 2020.  Those training sessions were postponed due to COVID-related travel restrictions.  The training is now being offered through a virtual training package with the use of Microsoft Teams.  At this time, space is limited to 12 persons per session (24 total).  Those wishing to participate in one of the sessions identified below, must contact the POC (listed above) NLT one week prior to training commencing.
2.  A confirmation email will require attendees to submit additional information.  Failure to submit required information as established in the confirmation email may result in removal from the approved list of training attendees.  After registering, participants will be provided an authorization code in order to download MPTk 1.4 from Software Center to their government computer.
3.  The training package will consist of periods of instruction and course work conducted over a five-day period.  Students should plan to attend approximately four hours of instruction each morning Monday through Friday.  Students should also expect to spend approximately two hours outside of class working on exercises each day Monday through Thursday.  Instructors will be available during the afternoons to provide assistance with the exercises.  Students will also be required to complete a short Teams video chat (10-15 minutes) with an instructor the week before training commences to verify all required equipment and software is working.

4.  Information regarding this training will be promulgated via separate correspondence to all approved attendees NLT one week prior to training commencing.
