Suspension of On-Site Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO) Analysis and Commencement of Remote Assist Visits
This MARADMIN announces the immediate suspension of on-site Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO) analyses through the end of FY20 due to COVID-19. Beginning the week of 4 May 2020, remote FSMAO assistance visits will commence to evaluate unit compliance according to the existing schedule, with modified checklists focusing only on questions that can be assessed remotely.

1. This message announces the immediate suspension of on-site Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO) analyses and the commencement of remote FSMAO assistance visits. 2. In response to COVID-19 and effective immediately, the FSMAO program has suspended all on-site unit analyses through the end of FY20. Contingent on continued ability to operate under Force Health Protection Conditions as established in respective regions and Installations, DC I&L will evaluate the potential to resume on-site analyses or suspend assessments completely. 3. Conditions permitting, beginning the week of 4 May, remote FSMAO assistance visits will commence to evaluate unit compliance in accordance with the current FSMAO schedule published in Ref (A). 3.A. As an update to Ref (B), all remote FSMAO assistance visits results will be documented and forwarded to LP, I&L, HQMC. Results of remote assistance visits will be forwarded to unit commanders from HQMC via the chain of command, through DoN Tracker. Formal submission of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) are required for qualifying discrepancies as a result of the remote assistance visits. 3.B. FSMAO Teams have reviewed checklists and identified the specific questions which can be conducted/evaluated remotely. Questions that do not lend themselves to remote assistance analysis will not be considered during remote assist visits. 3.C. NLT 17 April, DC, I&L (LPS) will provide MARFORS, MEF's, Supporting Establishment, and MSC G-4's with detailed guidance for the conduct of remote assistance visits using the existing FY20 FSMAO checklists. Guidance will include by-question viability, assessment methodology, and document management solutions provided by the using unit to validate remote sampling. FSMAO teams will be available to provide clarification, additional information, and assistance to Commanders and their supply/maintenance teams as required. 4.
