Establishment of the Marine Corps Robotics Integration Group (MCRIG) for Group 1 and Group 2 Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) and Counter-sUAS (C-sUAS) Training and Standardization
This MARADMIN announces the establishment of the Marine Corps Robotics Integration Group (MCRIG) under Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command at Twentynine Palms, California, to serve as the Marine Corps focal point for Group 1 and Group 2 small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and counter-sUAS (C-sUAS) training integration, standardization, and coordination. The MCRIG will standardize service-wide training efforts, institutionalize programs of instruction, and facilitate delivery across Regional Hubs to increase readiness across the Marine Corps Total Force. The organization is currently recruiting motivated Marines to fill several key billets including team chiefs, SNCOs, an intelligence officer, and an electronic warfare specialist.
1. Purpose. To announce the establishment of the Marine Corps Robotics Integration Group (MCRIG), under Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC), Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), Twentynine Palms, California, as the Marine Corps focal point for Group 1 and Group 2 small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and counter-sUAS (C-sUAS) training integration, standardization, and coordination. 2. Background. The rapid proliferation of Group 1 and Group 2 sUAS capabilities across the operating forces, combined with the evolving threat from adversary unmanned systems, requires a centralized approach. This necessitates a dedicated training and standardization effort across the Marine Corps. In response to this requirement, Training and Education Command (TECOM) established the MCRIG under MAGTFTC to synchronize training integration efforts, standardize training and programs of instruction (POI), and support the development of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) related to sUAS and C-sUAS employment. 2.a. Concurrent with the establishment of the MCRIG, the Marine Corps Attack Drone Team (MCADT) will continue supporting the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) and other stakeholders through research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) efforts focused on emerging Group 1 and Group 2 sUAS capabilities. These efforts support the identification, validation, and initial development of baseline training requirements, tactics, techniques, and procedures prior to transition to the MCRIG for Service-level training integration, standardization, and dissemination. 3. Mission. The MCRIG, as the Marine Corps lead for Group 1 and Group 2 sUAS and C-sUAS training, education, and curriculum development, standardizes service-wide training efforts, institutionalizes POIs, and facilitates delivery across designated Regional Hubs in order to increase readiness and integrate emerging capabilities throughout the Marine Corps Total Force. As directed, the MCRIG will remain prepared to support evolving service-level unmanned systems (UxS) training and education requirements. 4. Information Requests. 4.a. Effective immediately, all requests for information and coordination pertaining to Program of Record (POR) and Non-Program of Record (NPOR) Group 1 and Group 2 sUAS and C-sUAS training, pilot courses, POIs, standardization, and related training integration efforts shall be coordinated through the MCRIG via MCRIG@usmc.onmicrosoft.com or POCs #3 through #5. 4.b.
