Solicitation of Articles for the March 2027 Installations & Logistics Issue of the Marine Corps Gazette

1.  The March 2027 Marine Corps Gazette – Installations & 
Logistics Issue, will be comprised of articles solicited from across
the Marine Corps Installations and Logistics Enterprise (MCILE).  
Logistics Plans, Operations, and Vision (LPOV) Branch within Deputy 
Commandant, Installations & Logistics (DC I&L) will consolidate 
articles for this annual Installation & Logistics focused issue.  
The Intent is to collect and publish articles that align with the 
five lines of effort articulated in Ref (B) and the direction and 
guidance outlines in reference (d). 
2.  Purpose.  This annual solicitation seeks to challenge members of
the MCILE and focus on issues and creative ideas for sustaining the 
Force in the future operating environment. 
3.  Theme.  The Marine Corps has made significant progress over the 
last five years in the design and delivery of future force 
modernization efforts detailed in reference (d).  These changes have
required shifts in how we intend to support and sustain Marine 
Air-Ground Task Force lethality.  In a distributed, contested 
environment, logistics will remain the pacing function.  Submitted
articles should align to future logistics capabilities, capacities, 
training and education, organization, or logistics process 
improvements. 
3.A. Submit an article aligned with one or more of the eight lines 
of effort below: 
3.A.1.  Developing adaptive leaders to execute in contested 
logistics. 
3.A.2.  Sustaining the Force: Delivering the five imperatives in 
contested logistics. 
3.A.3.  Installations as resilient warfighting platforms: Defend, 
Distribute, and Endure. 
3.A.4.  Building the global supply web: integrating joint, 
coalition, and industry partners.  
3.A.5.  Achieving decision advantage: integrating artificial 
intelligence, data, and autonomous systems.
3.A.6.  Point-of-Need Manufacturing: scaling advanced manufacturing
at the tactical edge. 
3.A.7.  Littoral mobility and force generation:  securing 
operational reach and endurance. 
3.A.8.  Modernizing the industrial base to ensure force regeneration
and readiness. 
4.  Eligibility.  This solicitation is open to anyone, civilian, 
military, or contractor who is interested in contributing creative 
ideas and recommending solutions to the logistics enterprise as they
relate to sustaining the force in the 21st century.  Authors of 
articles must provide a clear thesis and support for/against, to 
compel further exploration of the topic.
5.  Guidelines:
5.A.  Article submissions may be submitted through the following

5.A.1.  Articles should be submitted in accordance with the 
following:  
5.A.1.A.  Article Length: 1500-3000 words. 
5.A.1.B.  Format:  Typewritten using Microsoft Word, Times New Roman
font, 12pt font size, double-spaced, with title as headed and page 
numbers centered as footer.
5.A.1.C.  Cover page: Include centered article title or thesis 
statement, related sustaining the force line of effort, author's 
name/rank/billet for bio, email address, mailing address, and 
synopsis (not to exceed 150 words).  Do not include a page number on
the cover page. 
5.A.1.D.  Graphs/Figures: Microsoft PowerPoint, highest possible 
resolution, include creator name, include location for placement 
within article body. 
5.A.1.E.  Photos:  JPEG, PNG, or TIF, highest possible resolution, 
include photographer name, provide a short caption if desired, 
include location for placement within the article body. 
5.B.  Submission:  Email articles to LPOV points of contact listed 
above. 
5.C.  Timeline.  Article cover page, draft, and final draft are 
submitted chronologically per the following:
5.C.1. 25 Sep 2026 – Cover page due to LPOV points of contact. 
5.C.2. 9 Oct 2026 – Draft articles due to LPOV.   
5.C.3. 29 Oct 2026 – Final articles due to LPOV.   
5.C.4. 30 Oct - 6 Nov 2026 – Article Evaluation Board.    
5.C.5. 13 Nov 2026 – Article package to DC I&L Assistant Deputy 
Commandant, LP and Commanding General, Marine Corps Installations 
Command.   
5.C.6. 20 Nov 2026 -  Article package to DC I&L.    
5.C.7. 11 Dec 2026 -  Approved article package to the Marine Corps 
Gazette. 
5.C.8. 11 Dec 2026 - Jan 2027 – Marine Corps Gazette editorial 
staff/author coordination. 
5.C.9. Mar 2027 – Installations & Logistics issue published in the 
Marine Corps Gazette. 
6.  Selection and publication.  All entries are eligible for 
publication.  An article evaluation board comprised of LP, LOGCOM, 
and MCICOM members will review and rank all submissions.  DC, I&L 
will review and approve the top ranked articles for submission to 
the Marine Corps Gazette for print or online publication. 
7.  Release authorized by Lieutenant General  A. M. Niebel, Deputy
Commandant, Installations and Logistics.
