Solicitation for Marine Corps Fuels Unit and Personnel Nominations for the CY 2017 Excellence in Naval Fuel Management Recognition Program

This MARADMIN solicits nominations from Marine Corps fuel facilities and units for the Calendar Year 2017 Excellence in Naval Fuel Management Recognition Program. The program recognizes the best managed and operated Marine Corps fuel activities, including contractor-operated facilities, as well as individual achievements of fuels personnel. Nomination packages must be submitted via the chain of command to HQMC Fuel LNO at NAVSUP Energy no later than January 26, 2018.

1.  Per instructions contained in reference (a), this message announces and invites all qualified Marine Corps fuel facilities/units to participate in the calendar year (CY) 2017 Excellence in Naval Fuel Management Recognition Program Competition for the best managed and operated Marine Corps fuel activities, including contractor-operated fuel activities.  The program is also designed to recognize the individual achievements and contributions of Marine Corps fuels personnel.  The period of consideration is CY 2017.  Reference (a) provides guidelines, procedures, and timelines for submitting nomination packages.  The instruction can be obtained via Naval Logistics Library (NLL) website https:(SLASH)(SLASH)nll.navsup.navy.mil.<br>
2.  Action.  Marine Corps units/facilities/commands who desire to compete should complete and forward their nomination packages, via the chain of command, to arrive NLT 26 Jan 2018 to the following address:  HQMC Fuel LNO, NAVSUP Energy, 8725 John Kingman Rd, Suite 3719, Ft. Belvoir, VA 22060-6221 Attn:  MGySgt Jose Salazar.  Electronic submissions are encouraged.  Request submitting activities notify the HQMC Fuel LNO, NAVSUP Energy POC via phone, fax or email when the packages are forwarded.  Activities are reminded to include the personal data sheet required by reference (a) and not to send support materials such as video tapes, compact disks, etc., not authorized by reference (a).  Also, activities are reminded not to include social security numbers in the nomination letters.<br>
3.  Request dissemination of this message to all fuel-handling commands.<br>
