Change to Family Separation Allowance (FSA) Rate

This MARADMIN announces an increase in the Family Separation Allowance (FSA) rate from $250 to $300 per month, effective 18 December 2025, as authorized by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026. The change applies to all types of FSA entitlements (FSA-R, FSA-S, and FSA-T) and has been automatically updated in the Marine Corps Total Force System.

1.  Purpose.  This MARADMIN provides details
on the increase to the Family Separation Allowance (FSA) rate
authorized by reference (a).
2.  Background.  Reference (a) amended reference (b) to increase
the monthly FSA rate.  As the legislation did not specify a
different effective date, the change is effective as of the date
of enactment, 18 December 2025.
3.  FSA Rate Change.
3.a.  Effective 18 December 2025, the monthly FSA rate is
increased from $250 to $300, per reference (c).
3.b.  This change applies to all types of
FSA entitlements (FSA-R, FSA-S, and FSA-T).
3.c.  The Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS) has been
updated to reflect the new rate.  An automated process adjusted
all records for Marines entitled to FSA on or after
18 December 2025.  No action is required from individual Marines.
4.  Coordination.  Disbursing/Finance Offices and administrative
units will ensure proper entitlement and payment of the new FSA
rate for all periods of eligibility on or after 18 December 2025.
